Cloud clinic

Mental health private practices - we're the same but different. Our Cloud Clinic has psychiatrists and psychologists delivering comprehensive online mental health assessment and treatment to you. The same service, simply online.

Assessments

Mental health and psychiatric assessments

Working on your mental health involves getting a clear picture of the issues you're facing, and the treatment options for you to choose from. Our care plans summarise this for you. We work up a care plan through our online assessments, which include a mix of talking to your therapist and answering validated questionnaires. An assessment usually takes one to two consults, but occasionally can take longer.

Treatments

Telehealth treatment available at a psychology clinic

One size doesn't fit all - so we offer a wide range of online evidence-based treatment options. Although telehealth is a great treatment option for many, it isn't right for everyone. If that's the case for you we will help you to find and link up with the right services for your needs. If you're interested in learning more about the different therapies that our clinicians offer, check out our treatments guide.

Referrals

Referrals for psychology and psychiatry clinic

You don't have to have a referral to see one of our psychologists if you are planning to self pay for your consults. If you're wanting to see one of our Psychiatrists, or to be eligible for a medicare rebate when you see our psychologists, you will need the right referral from your GP. Our mental health referrals guide gives you all the details.

NDIS funded support for mental health at Aurora Cloud Clinic

NDIS

Mental health conditions are one of the leading causes of disability in Australia. In addition, those with a physical disability are at higher risk of developing a mental health issue due the additional stressors they can experience. NDIS funding can be used to see a psychologist.

The funding focuses on helping people to overcome 'psychosocial' disability - issues that may arise from a mental health condition, such as connecting with others, engaging in meaningful things like work, community and education.

DEFENCE FORCE PERSONNEL

The experiences and challenges faced by Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) and Australian Defence Force (ADF) Personnel during their service is known to create a higher risk of onset of common mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, alcohol and substance use, and PTSD.

DVA counselling is a free and confidential service - all you need is a DVA referral form from your GP. Veterans holding a DVA WHITE or GOLD card are entitled to around 10 government funded sessions per year, whilst Gold Card Holders may be entitled to more.

Medicare rebates available at Aurora Cloud Clinic

MEDICARE

In the past couple of years, just over ten percent of Australians have used a Medicare-subsidised mental health service. This shows just how common mental health conditions are.

Medicare funding for mental health treatment can be accessed through a referral from your GP, and in some instances your GP will also provide a Mental Health Care Plan.

Medicare rebates apply for people seeking mental health...

SELF PAY

Some people to choose to fully self-fund their mental health treatment, for a variety of reasons.

You can access mental health assessment and treatment from our clinicians without a GP referral if you are comfortable with fully funding the sessions.  Some people choose to self fund ongoing treatment if they reach the maximum number of sessions that they can receive reimbursement for. Others choose to self fund as they prefer not to disclose their mental health status with their GP or private insurer.

PRIVATE INSURANCE

Many private health insurers recognise the need to support access to psychological support. Private health insurance may cover part of the cost of psychological treatment but it depends on your level of health cover and insurance policy.

If you're claiming Medicare rebates on psychological therapy under a GP Mental Health Care Plan, it's unlikely that you'll be permitted to claim the gap fee with your private health insurer.
